BANKWORK$
Career training is more important today than ever as many workers are not only trying to enter the job market, but also to re-enter it.
We conceived BankWork$TM to serve as a vocational training program model. While it specifically trains bank tellers for careers in the financial industry, it also is a model of collective training for positions in high demand by multiple employers within a single industry. BankWork$TM was designed to be cost-effective, with a sharp focus on maximizing graduation, placement and retention rates. By bringing this business mindset to our program, we ensure that it is viewed positively by our banking, government and foundation funding partners. The BankWork$TM model is mutually beneficial: the participants receive jobs that pay above a living wage and are new role models for their family members and their community; and the banks fill a real business need, as they find qualified candidates from underserved populations from which they have historically had challenges sourcing.
BankWork$TM currently runs in two cities: Los Angeles and Seattle.
